Day 18 - 500+ Miles to Texas

Wednesday we drove from New Orleans to San Marcos, Texas to visit Randy and Sue.  They moved to Texas from Georgia right after we visited them in Georgia in 2020 while Covid was in full swing.

The drive out of Louisiana was fascinating, I10 is miles and miles of highway over bayou, swamp, bog, whatever you want to call it..but to think we built roads over it is an engineering marvel.

We  arrived in San Marcos about 6PM, Randy and Sue were up at their club at a mixer. They live in the Kissing Tree development which has quite a social life of its own.

We ordered Chinese for dinner and then went to one of their local pubs for live music, Jack's. The entertainers were locals and pretty good. I must say it was the first time I have ever heard a solo on a wash board.

It was a full day.  Thursday is St Patrick's Day, we will have to find something green to wear.

  1. It was a long day but worth it. Good to see Randy and Sue in their new community. Fun times planned for the next few days.
