Tuesday after breakfast we took a tour of the Fort Devens Museum. We planned for about an hour, but it took a bit more. It seems there is a story with every piece in the museum, especially when your tour guides are subject matter experts. Duane, Jim and Lewis were amazing guides, walking encyclopedias. They each have personally donated to the collection.
The light green uniform behind Duane was worn by his father during the time of the Korean conflict.
We arrived at the home of my first niece, Shannon, around 3:30PM and it was warm enough to de-winterize the Serenity Falcon and fill our water tanks. We are civilized again.
After Rick got home from work, we decided to go out for dinner. We went to their favorite Mexican place. It was some of the best Mex food we have had and plentiful, we plan to get a few more meals out of our left overs. And the drinks are something else!
We had a great time at dinner and with those drinks were grateful Rick was our DD and got us home.
After visiting Shannon and Rick, our next stop is Assateague Island in Maryland. That means we have to get past New York and Philly traffic. We decided that we should get up early and leave at 6AM in attempt to miss the rush hour traffic, so went to bed early to get an early start. It was another fun day.
What a great museum, lots of history from war time events. Everyone there is interesting and involved. Reached Shannon and Rick’s in time for dinner out, delicious! Their house is beautiful. Early to bed, early to rise.
