We left Fort Clinch around mid day and arrived at Jacksonville Beach around mid afternoon. We took A1A all the way including the ferry across the St John's River. It was really quick but we enjoyed the ride.
Since Valarie and Mike were working until around 5PM, we went for a walk on the beach. It was near low tide so it was huge and near perfect sand. It had rained earlier, but we managed to get our walk in with no rain.
Valarie and Mike live in a condo with ocean views, I picked it out from the street by the patio furniture.
After Mike got home and shined up, we went out for dinner at the 'Flying Iguana', where we had some really good tacos. This is a busy time for Mike, there is a PGA tournament underway in St. Augustine, it was extremely generous for him to give us some of his time.
We were parked in a beach access lot, it probably would have been just fine for the night but since there was a Cracker Barrel just a bit over a half hour way, we decided to go to the CB. We found it to be pretty crowed, there is a PGA tournament in St Augustine, that I think explains it. We are small and just took a regular spot to park, all good.
Our next stop is Fort Myers.
It was a leisurely travel day. I love ferries too! Another walk on the beach, not getting old yet. Always good to see family, Val and Mike are doing well. Good ole Cracker Barrel, never disappoints.
